Cheers!

JJ

JJ, what is there to say? My life is richer for having known you. From the first time we met, you always made my family & I feel welcome in Old Forge. That hospitality & friendship continued and was passed along to others we came to know mutually. There was never a time when visiting Old Forge, that you were not willing to go out for a drink, go listen to music, socialize, or offer a place to stay should we not have one. You would introduce all of us "new comers" to the Old Forge establishment, always being accepted, because we had been introduced by the unofficial "Mayor of Old Forge". Hell, there was even that time you smuggled us all into the Adirondack League Club as well as some of us getting to meet Pee Wee Herman! There was never a time when seeing you out that you didn't have that million dollar, who ate the canary smile....I will remember it forever. You, your Dad & Family supported me in my business in the Valley as well as where ever I would happen to be working, your loyalty was never unnoticed. In the face of adversity, you always turned the other cheek, an example we all could learn from. Quickly you became a member of our little group, and too often the youngest and meekest, showed us all that he was indeed the strongest. I am grateful I was able to visit you in Cooperstown and we had the chance to express our regard for each other. Although I am sad at your passing, I know that you are with your mom, and that you are free from the prejudice & struggles of this life. For that I am happy. Happy to have ever known you and grateful for the short time you were with us. Keep an eye on the rest of us from up there will you please? And while you are at it, put in a good word as well, because there isn’t one of us that doesn’t need it. Your friend/s,
Tim, Pj, Michael Marusic, & Family

So much laughter in just one place. JJ was the center of comedy; we all know that. I will miss him more than most know. He was the satiric/humor central of mankind. Beyond his years in humor he should have been writing for Saturday Night Live....fur real!!!!!

I hope this message holds true...many attempts to make this active...I so miss him now....no telling

There are too many great memories to count. JJ was a true friend to everyone. Although it is sad to see him leave us, he is now making others smile by simply entering the room. Thank you,...until we meet again.

    To the O'Brien Family,
We have so many great memories (us Schultz girls) of time spent together in our youth and of JJ's wonderful, outgoing nature and vivaciousness- a true gift he was!! Too young........
God bless and Jeff, thank you and so glad we spent time together in all of our subsequent, although less frequent visits, to Old Forge. Yes, you were "the mayor" - and we could always find you, or you found us, when we visited. Peace out.....Cory Schultz Berghoff
